“Who is going to come up with the key dribbles?” – Former Chelsea midfielder gives honest assessment of Hazard’s departure

Chelsea will be left to play ‘boring’ football and the Blues will struggle to ‘cope without him’ if a mammoth fee is agreed between the Premier League giants and Real Madrid this summer for Eden Hazard.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are expected to firm up the deal that will allow Hazard to join Real in the coming transfer window but there could be dire consequences and they have been warned about them by a former player.

A report by the Daily Mail says the two clubs are still way apart in their estimations of the forward but Los Blancos are hopeful of finding a favorable solution and landing their man this year. Should the deal go through, Chelsea will lose more than just another player.

They will lose goals, assists and a real threat in front of goal next season and beyond. Hazard has scored 108 goals since signing for Chelsea from Lille LOSC in 2012. He has assisted plenty more and this season’s impressive 19 goals and 15 assists in all competitions must remind the Blues what they will lose if they allow him to leave.

Former midfielder Emmanuel Petit agreed with this:

“It would be a big, big loss for Chelsea if Eden Hazard left the club. For the last six years he has been marvellous for them – and this season has been one of his best so far, even if he wasn’t named in the Premier League team of the year.

Chelsea have so many quality players, but none at Hazard’s level. He can do whatever he wants on the pitch and is capable of making decisions with the ball at his feet. Hazard going to Real Madrid would be a huge step for him – and he deserves it.”
