It looks unlikely that Eden Hazard will be handing in a transfer request to force a move away from Chelsea this summer, with AS outlining the reasons why.
While we have grown used to the speculation linking Hazard with a move to Real Madrid, it must be hard for the player to concentrate amidst it all ahead of a crucially important end of season run-in.
As much as Hazard attempts to remain professional and stay focused, at least in the public eye, he’d be lying if he claimed that he never thought about it with his feet up at home.
Whatever is to happen this summer, whether that be Hazard staying or going, one thing appears certain – he will not be handing in a transfer request to get the wheels in motion.
AS report that Hazard has considered the possibility, but with Chelsea’s transfer ban in place and his good relationship with the supporters, he’s likely to opt against it.
In fact, the report likens the situation to that of Antoine Griezmann’s at Atletico Madrid, where he snubbed interest from Barcelona to ensure the best interests of his club were considered.
Griezmann’s ‘La Decisión’ was far too dramatic for Hazard to replicate, but we would have no complaints if he opted to stay another season out of love and respect for Chelsea.
Please, Eden. Do it for us.
