Chelsea would be likely to retain the services of Callum Hudson-Odoi if club legend Frank Lampard was appointed manager, according to the Daily Mail.
Hudson-Odoi’s future has been under the spotlight since the turn of the year, with the youngster now having just a year left to run on his Chelsea contract.
Especially following the departure of Eden Hazard, we Chelsea fans are growing increasingly nervous by the day that Hudson-Odoi could walk out of the door.
In the 18-year-old we already have our long-term replacement for Eden, while looking to the transfer market to fill that void could prove difficult.
Thankfully, we may not have to. The Daily Mail believe that Hudson-Odoi is likely to commit his future if Lampard and no.2 Jody Morris are appointed.
Lampard showed plenty of willingness to give youngsters a chance at Derby, while Morris worked with Hudson-Odoi at the Chelsea academy.
It looks to be the perfect appointment, with Hudson-Odoi’s potential change of stance yet another sweetener in the deal.
