Reddit user pibs3110 has shared a brilliant stat about two of our own – Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen.
For years we have been working to bridge the gap between the academy and the first-team. We are finally having some success.
Two players who have been influential in that are the aforementioned duo – Loftus-Cheek and Christensen.
The pair have worked their way from the academy to the starting eleven and were rewarded with a Europa League winners’ medal.
In doing so, as pibs3110 shared on Reddit, they became the first players ever to triumph on the European stage at both youth and senior level.
Both players were part of the UEFA Youth League winning team in the 2014/15 campaign and went on to make history on Wednesday night.
They ought to serve as an example to everyone in our academy that hard work and natural talent can take you to the top of the game.
