Chelsea have set their asking price for striker Tammy Abraham in the region of £25M, according to the Mirror.
With Gonzalo Higuain unlikely to be here next season, you have to think this is the best chance Abraham will get to make it here.
Michy Batshuayi is another who has had to remain patient for an opportunity, but you could argue that Tammy deserves it more.
He’s one of our own, and his 25 league goals played a huge part in taking Aston Villa back to the Premier League, via the playoffs.
We hope that he gets a chance under whoever our manager may be next term, but the Mirror’s information leaves it looking unlikely.
It’s claimed in their report that Chelsea will demand somewhere in the region of £25M for Abraham, which is pennies in the modern market.
If it’s true, it suggests that Chelsea see him as just another who has developed out on loan only to subsequently be shipped on.
That would be a great shame, and an even bigger mistake.
