Football London believe that Chelsea have given an indication of their intentions with the transfer ban.
Now, this report is merely based on a theory, rather than information they have been given, but we believe that there may well be something to it.
Chelsea fans have been left in the dark over whether the club will be pushing to suspend, or overturn, the transfer ban or rather see it out.
However, the club’s actions in the transfer market, in terms of player sales rather than acquisition, could tell us everything we need to know.
Football London cite the situation surrounding Willian as evidence that Chelsea are not going to continue with their efforts to freeze the ban.
The report notes that Willian has attracted interest from both Barcelona and PSG, but Chelsea have shown no intention of allowing him to depart.
Willian is the wrong side of 30 and can no longer be considered an unsellable asset, yet Chelsea insist on taking a stubborn stance over his future.
Could this be because they’re looking to keep the squad together, with there being no possibility of replacing players if the ban remains?
It would certainly make sense. Willian is highly replaceable, yet considered indispensable by the club. It certainly makes you think.
