Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has appeared to confirm on Instagram live that Frank Lampard is in talks to become the club’s new manager.
While Lampard has been heavily linked with the position ever since Maurizio Sarri departed for Juventus, we have been given no indication as to how far down the line the deal is.
Well, we have now.
Drogba was live streaming on Instagram and answering questions from fans. Inevitably, someone asked him about the current managerial situation at Cobham.
His answer was frank, revealing his belief that Lampard is not only the right man for the job, but he’s already in talks with Chelsea over replacing Sarri.

It’s a slip of the tongue from Drogba, who certainly would have asked Lamps for the inside info after reading the speculation in the papers. The pair remain good friends.
