Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus switch could be seen as ‘betrayal’, Chelsea midfielder warns

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has warned Maurizio Sarri that the Napoli supporters may see his impending move to Juventus as a ‘betrayal’.

Jorginho has an extremely close relationship with manager Sarri, having worked with him both at the Stadio San Paolo and Stamford Bridge.

While it looks unlikely that he will be following him to Turin, Jorginho hasn’t shied away from sharing his opinion on his manager’s next step.

In a report by Standard Sport, who themselves report that Sarri is on his way to Juventus, Jorginho is quoted saying on the matter:

“The Napoli fans still have him in their hearts; it’s normal that they could get angry. They could treat it as a betrayal; they’re like that. We’ll see what happens.”

The Napoli faithful are a bonkers bunch who absolutely adore their football club. What Sarri did for them will be swiftly forgotten if he joins Juve.

You only have to look at the treatment Gonzalo Higuain was given, Sarri is likely to become an enemy of Napoli in the same manner as he did.

Higuain went on to win the league and cup double twice, which softened the blow. Silverware would do the same for Sarri at the Allianz Stadium.
