Manchester United ought to attempt to sign Chelsea star this summer, claims pundit

Pundit Stan Collymore has urged Manchester United to try their luck and pursue Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Why Collymore has even bothered so much as suggesting that United attempt to pull this off is puzzling. There’s absolutely no chance of Kante leaving.

However, he has done so, citing his partnership with Paul Pogba for the French national team as a reason why it would work, as reported by the Mirror.

While writing in his column for the Mirror, Collymore acknowledge the difficulty of landing Kante, but insisted that United should try anyway:

“If he does end up staying, United ought to be trying to sign two players to set him free.”

“It would be hard to get Kante out of Chelsea or Declan Rice out of West Ham, but that doesn’t mean United shouldn’t try for both.”

Man United are in a difficult place and ought to spend their time wisely this summer. A pointless pursuit of Kante would be counterproductive.

He recently signed a new contract and certainly isn’t the kind to jump ship when we need him the most. It’d be a waste of United’s time and resources.

Kante is going nowhere, and people like Collymore ought to save their breath if they’re going to even suggest to the contrary.
