The Daily Star claim to have an inside track in the Massimiliano Allegri camp. We’re not sure we buy it, but the news they share is rather interesting!
Allegri is perhaps the most qualified manager available, discounting Jose Mourinho, who the club surely wouldn’t turn to in their search for a new boss.
Naturally, Allegri’s CV has seen him enter the conversation when it comes to replacing Maurizio Sarri. He has six league titles to his name.
While the club likely see him as an option, the most considerable interest when it comes to making it happen is coming from Allegri himself.
That’s what the Daily Star claim, anyway. It’s reported that Allegri has told his friends that he wants to be the new Chelsea manager.
How the Daily Star will have acquired this information remains ambiguous, but we couldn’t blame Allegri for wanting to work for such a great club.
Whether he’s the right fit is for Marina Granovskaia and the rest of the Chelsea board to decide.
