Eden Hazard to Real Madrid talks in jeopardy as CEO leaves London without agreement

Talks between Real Madrid and Chelsea over the transfer of Eden Hazard have broken down, according to Standard Sport.

Hazard has been widely expected to become a Real Madrid player this summer, but irrespective of his desire to move, the clubs have to find an agreement.

They haven’t, per Standard Sport.

The report claims that Real Madrid CEO Jose Angel Sanchez flew to London to partake in negotiations between the Spanish giants and Chelsea over Hazard.

He’s now left, without an agreement.

What this means for Hazard’s proposed move to the Santiago Bernabeu remains to be seen. The transfer certainly no longer appears to be imminent.

Chelsea risk frustrating Hazard by denying him the transfer, which would be a shame, as there is no real need for bad blood between the parties.

However, Marina Granovskaia is well within her rights to stand firm. No matter how big a club we’re negotiating with, it’s important we are not ‘mugged off’.

While the belief remains that Hazard will get his move eventually, troublesome talks between Chelsea and Real Madrid will only result in a positive outcome for us.

Either talks collapse completely and Hazard stays a Chelsea player, or Real Madrid cave and give us an almighty transfer fee. Let’s wait and see.
