Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s achilles injury is considerably more serious than the one suffered by Chelsea teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Twitter guru @CarefreeYouth.
It was a freak turn of events which soured the tail end of the 2018/19 campaign. Both of the club’s brightest young talents having their season’s ended by the exact same injury.
Both had only recently threatened to break into Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven, but all their hard work throughout the season was derailed by respective ruptured achilles’.
Since the days the incidents occurred, we have been looking forward to when we would next see them in action in a Chelsea shirt, with @CarefreeYouth giving us an update on that front.

Having Hudson-Odoi fit for the start of the Premier League season would be brilliant for both us and him, but it’s hard not to allow the seriousness of Ruben’s injury dampen your optimism.
The boy is incredibly unlucky on the injury front. We just dearly hope that his supreme talent does not end up going to waste.
