Here’s a transfer rumour that we didn’t see coming – Everton are reportedly interested in signing former Chelsea striker Diego Costa this summer.
That’s what the Mirror report, with the Toffees seemingly keen on laying down a marker with a big-name signing during the current summer transfer window.
Costa’s return to Atletico Madrid has not gone how he would have hoped. The two-time Premier League winner has been unable to produce his best performances.
While unable to do so, he has ensured to create as much drama has possible, which is typical Costa, but of no benefit to Diego Simeone and Atletico.
The Mirror entertain the possibility of the 30-year-old leaving Atletico again this summer and believe that a sensational return to the Premier League could be on the cards.
It wouldn’t be with Chelsea, though, rather Everton.
The report claims that Everton want to make a statement and see Costa as the ideal candidate. It remains to be seen if they’re capable of pulling that one off.
