Former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele is expected to return to the club as part of the new-look setup at Stamford Bridge, according to talkSPORT.
Chelsea have already been greeted with the returns of Frank Lampard, Jody Morris and Chris Jones this week, with Petr Cech also being appointed in a technical role.
It doesn’t look as though the club have any intention of stopping there, however, with talkSPORT reporting that Makelele’s return to his former club is also on the cards.
Their belief is that Makelele will slot into the role which was formerly occupied by Eddie Newton, which involves overseeing the club’s vast amount of players out on loan.
Makelele has previously held positions at PSG, Bastia, Swansea City and Eupen, quite the variety. Could Chelsea be the next name the Frenchman will be adding to his C.V?
We assume that Chelsea will want to get these things signed and sealed sooner rather than later, so the situation should become clear over the next few weeks.
