Frank Lampard has spoken to the Chelsea website after agreeing a deal to become the club’s new head-coach.
Lampard puts an end to a month of continuous speculation by putting pen-to-paper on his Chelsea contract after five years away from his beloved Blues.
The Englishman enjoyed a superb debut season in management at Derby County, with Chelsea clearly seeing him as well worth the risk.
We’re all delighted to see Lampard return in the hot seat, but nobody is happy that this move has materialised than the man himself.
He’s quoted by the Chelsea website saying:
“I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach. Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared, however, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead.”
It’s straight down to business for Frank. There’ll be no time to enjoy the romance, with pre-season on the horizon and a new season to prepare for.
Judging by these comments, he is well aware of that fact – and he’s ready.
Marina Granovskaia also had her say on the move which she orchestrated, being quoted by the Chelsea website saying:
“It gives us great pleasure to welcome Frank back to Chelsea as head coach. Frank possesses fantastic knowledge and understanding of the club and last season, he demonstrated he is one of the most talented young coaches in the game.”
We’re going to have the biggest smile on our face all day. This is SPECIAL!
