Drinkwater signed for Chelsea back in the summer of 2017, for what the Daily Mail report to be a deal worth somewhere in the region of £35M.
Chelsea managed to push the deal over the line on transfer deadline day, with Antonio Conte finally satisfying his desires for a new midfielder.
However, as you well know, Drinkwater has proven to be one of the worst signings in Chelsea’s history – and we’ve made some stinkers over the years.
The Englishman did not feature under Maurizio Sarri last term, and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be given a shot by Frank Lampard this time around.
To put into perspective just how awful his acquisition has proven to be, the Daily Mail report that he has cost Chelsea £85,440 for every minute he has played.
The sooner we’re able to shift him, the better.
