DONE DEAL:Â EFL Championship side Charlton Athletic have announced the capture of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
Gallagher was named Chelsea’s academy player of the year at the tail end of the season and was subsequently given the opportunity to be involved in the Blues’ pre-season fixtures in Ireland.
Taking the plunge into the professional game, Gallagher needs first-team opportunities in order to continue to develop. Charlton appear prepared to give him exactly that, handing him the #11, as they confirmed in their club statement on his arrival.

Gallagher faces his toughest test yet in England’s second tier, but also his biggest opportunity. This is his chance to show everyone exactly what he’s capable of and potentially force his way into the first-team setup.
