Chelsea set to part with long-serving defender as Leganes make their move

Chelsea are in talks to sell long-serving centre-back Kenneth Omeruo to Leganes, with the Nigerian having not made a single appearance for the club in seven years, according to The Sun.

The Blues are making a habit of parting with their longest-serving players who have never actually played for the club, with Omeruo falling into that category. He could be the next to depart.

The Sun have published an exclusive report which claims that Omeruo is closing in on a permanent departure from Stamford Bridge, one which would see Chelsea bank £4.5M.

While that is, in truth, peanuts, Omeruo is never going to make it at Chelsea and we ought to allow him to move on with his career without playing hardball on the transfer fee.

Whether Leganes will prove to be a successful hunting ground for the now 25-year-old remains to be seen, but if the move does go through, we wish him all the best in the future.
