Chelsea are interested in signing Bayern Munich’s Torben Rhein, who is considered one of the Bavarian giants’ top talents, according to German publication Sport1.
The Blues could be out for revenge here. As the Guardian reported back in June, Bayern refused to give up on their pursuit of our most prized asset, Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Marina Granovskaia and co appear as though they’re set to return fire, with Sport1 reporting that 16-year-old Rhein has landed himself in our crosshairs.

Chelsea have made a habit of recruiting all the most talented youngsters available in recent seasons, thus it would come as no surprise if Rhein was a genuine target for us.
We can’t help but think there’s an ulterior motive here, though, with Bayern’s long and public pursuit of Hudson-Odoi no doubt disgruntling the upper brass at the Bridge.
If we are successful in our pursuit of Rhein, it will be the equivalent of sticking two fingers up to all those over at the Allianz, just as we did back in 2012. Glorious.
