Chelsea v Sheffield United lineups: Flurry of chances for Lampard’s young guns

Both Chelsea and Sheffield United have confirmed their starting elevens for today’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

While this would ordinarily be a case of newly-promoted minnows visiting one of the division’s heavy hitters, Sheffield United actually head into today’s game above Chelsea in the table.

That may only be due to goal difference, but it hasn’t exactly been the dream start to life back at Chelsea for Frank Lampard, who sits five points adrift of the top heading into today’s contest.

It’s early days, though, and a win today would make it two on the bounce heading into the international break. Lampard has once again entrusted his younger players to make that happen.

Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham both start following their excellent performances at Norwich, with Fikayo Tomori replacing Andreas Christensen at centre-back.

Starlet Billy Gilmour is also included among the substitutes. What a moment it would be for him if he were able to get a run out on the Stamford Bridge turf this afternoon.
