Important updates relating to Chelsea are not always regarding anyone with direct association with the club itself.
Sites of our kind can only survive due to the brilliant work that journalists do to get close to the clubs and subsequently gather information relating to club matters.
One man who has been truly superb with his updates regarding Chelsea is Standard Sport reporter Simon Johnson. He’s one of the finest around.
He announced last night via his Twitter account that his time with the London Evening Standard has now come to an end after 14 years.
Well I never thought this day would come, but after 14 wonderful years working for @standardsport, today marks the end. A big thank you to all my wonderful editors and colleagues who have made working for the paper such a joy and privilege.

We can only imagine that he will continue to cover Chelsea elsewhere, perhaps with The Athletic, and we certainly need him to do so.
In a world full of falsities and misinformation, having excellent journalists doing excellent work should be all the more appreciated.
We hope that his affiliation with Chelsea will not end here – because we need him!
