Just how good Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was during our Super Cup defeat yesterday night has been shown by a collection of stats shared by Squawka on Twitter.
It’s not often that a player on the losing side can unanimously be elected man of the match, especially with a player on the side of the victors finding the back of the net twice during the contest.
However, such was Kante’s influence, we can all agree that he was the best player on the pitch throughout the course of the action in the 2019 UEFA Super Cup – while only half fit.
The French World Cup winner never fails to amaze us what he’s capable of, with his performances seemingly becoming all the more astounding as the years progress.
Have a look at his stats from yesterday night’s game, for example. It shows just how much Kante has developed into a complete player, and this is while still partially injured.

He may be the only world-class player that Frank Lampard has at his disposal, but he’s worth two or three ordinary players on his own. We love you, N’Golo. Never leave.
