Ashley Cole, what a geezer.
The best left-back in the history of English football was given the chance by UEFA to help out with the Europa League draw, a decision they may have lived to regret.
Cole was the most accomplished left-back you’re ever likely to find, but there’s one area where the European Cup winner doesn’t thrive – it’s with pronunciations.
Have a look at this video, with Ash struggling to pronounce the names of several Europa League sides, including Espanyol, which we would deem pretty straightforward.

It’s a cover-your-eyes moment, but one where we can all laugh along with Cole, rather than at him. He clearly finds it funny, rather than allowing himself to feel embarrassed.
We hope to see Ashley back at Cobham soon, but he will need to brush up on his foreign name pronunciations if he wants to be able to communicate with the players without great difficulty.
