Chelsea academy player of the year Conor Gallagher scored his first goal for Charlton Athletic during a 3-1 victory over Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
Gallagher took the plunge into professional football this summer on the back of a brilliant campaign with Chelsea’s academy.
He was named our academy player of the season at the end of season awards, following in the footsteps of Reece James, who is now a fully fledged first-teamer.
Whether Gallagher will perform in the Championship as good as James did remains to be seen, but he’s off to a brilliant start at Charlton.
The youngster scored his first goal for the club, and his first in professional football, on Saturday. One fan managed to capture the moment on camera.

We get the feeling that this could be the first of many for Gallagher this season. If he’s able to finish like that on a regular basis, he’ll score plenty at Charlton.
