(Video): Kepa mistake makes it one clean sheet in seven for unconvincing Chelsea

If you were having concerns about how Chelsea’s defence has been looking throughout our pre-season campaign, Borussia Monchengladbach’s opening goal this afternoon will not allay your fears.

While we have looked relatively potent in attack throughout the majority of our games this pre-season, our defence has been continually leaky. It will no doubt have been a concern for Frank Lampard.

Yes, Antonio Rudiger and N’Golo Kante have both been sidelined, but the personnel that have been on the pitch have been making schoolboy errors and giving away goals far too easily.

Alassane Pléa of Gladbach has now made matters worse for Chelsea, finding the back of the net after a cheap turnover of possession from goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Take a look.

While Kepa was the one who gave possession away, Mateo Kovacic allowed Pléa to skip past far too easily. It’s now just one clean sheet in seven pre-season games for the Blues. Sort it out, Frank!
