Cesar Azpilicueta has been speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League tie with Lille, and he had some interesting words on what Frank Lampard has changed at Chelsea tactically, especially with regards to his individual position.
Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com was at the presser and he reported the right back’s quotes.
Azpilicueta on Lampard's effect on him: "Every manager asks you different tasks on the pitch. We are playing with more intensity, pressing higher on the pitch, we want to control the game. We are attacking with the full-backs." Adds, he is asked to cross and shoot more #CFC #UCL

He’s certainly been doing more of the latter. In fact, he thought he had a huge goal against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago, before seeing it ruled out by VAR. His crossing has been notable this season too, and with Tammy Abraham lurking in the box Azpi is bound to pick up more assists sooner rather than later.
His form defensively has picked up hugely too, and just like the rest of the team it seems like he’s rounding into form at the right time. Tomorrow night will hopefully represent another step forward in the development of Lampard’s tactical ideas.
