Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness were on punditry duties for Chelsea against Southampton, and both were full of praise for the Brighton young Blues who blustered to victory against the sloppy Saints.
Souness is rarely cheery, but even he had to admit that Chelsea’s verve and flair as fun to watch. Redknapp focused on Mason Mount, and some of his praise for the midfielder – who scored again today – was effusive.

Mason was indeed special today, running his socks off as we’ve come to expect, but also getting into the box when it counted. He lashed home the second goal which really saw us on our way to victory, and it was noted by Redknapp also that it was Mount who won the header to start the move.
That’s the kind of all action performance we’ve come to expect from Mason
