Olivier Giroud has been a very patient player over the years.
After spending a long time at Arsenal, playing well but always having to battle for his place, the striker joined Chelsea a couple of Januarys ago to try and get an easier run at some action.
It worked at first, and towards the end of Antonio Conte’s second season and under Maurizio Sarri the Frenchman had some decent spells of playing a lot. But that gametime has dramatically decreased since Frank Lampard arrived on the scene, bringing young Tammy Abraham with him.
Giroud has been the perfect pro about the whole thing, staying this extra season because the club needed him and not complaining once, but it’s natural that he will put his foot down after this season.
The Sun today link him with moves to teams in the US, and to us that makes perfect sense.
Who can’t imagine OG in a pair of nice shades and a slim fit LA Galaxy shirt picking up where David Beckham (and Robbie Keane) left off?
Vancouver are said to be the team most interested, but it’s hard to see him settling for a small market like that.
