RThe Daily Mail have started today with a bang, firing out a really unlikely Chelsea transfer rumour into the ether.
They claim that Newcastle, who are in action later this afternoon against Wolves, want Reece James on loan from Chelsea in January.
The defender has made five appearances this season, including a couple of starts and an extended half hour off the bench yesterday.
We have no doubt he could go and dominate at Newcastle, but there’s no way we’re letting him go. Not only is he the future of the club, he’s also very much an important piece for Frank Lampard right now. He’s second choice right back, and first choice right wing back in games where Lampard wants Cesar Azpilicueta in a back three.
Reece saved Wigan last season, and we reckon he could do the same for the Mapgies this year – but he’s not going to be given the chance.
