Tiemoue Bakayoko’s Chelsea career has never really happened, and he has cut a frustrated figure at times since his move to London in 2017.
Since then he has failed to cement down a regular spot in the Chelsea squad, and has spent time on loan at AC Milan, and now at his former club Monaco.
At least he is still smiling though, or perhaps that’s all he could do in the face of the embarrassment yesterday when he thought he was being substituted.
Bakayoko started to walk off the pitch clapping the fans thinking he was being taken off when the number 14 was read out.
But of course, that was his previous number, now he wears 6!
