Chelsea’s transfer window so far has been mainly generating around one deal in particular.
That is the seemingly imminent departure of striker Olivier Giroud.
It looks as if Giroud will be rejoining the manager that signed him at Chelsea in 2018, Antonio Conte.
Chelsea and Inter are ‘close and confident’ of finding an agreement that will see Giroud join the Serie A side for £6 million, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Olivier Giroud is getting closer to Inter. The French striker agreed personal terms yesterday (contract until June 2022) – now Inter and Chelsea are ‘close and confident’ to find total agreement on next days (around €5/6M to Chelsea). 🇫🇷 #transfers #Chelsea #Inter #CFC

The France World Cup winning forward has already agreed personal terms with his potential new club, with his agent being in Italy this week confirming them.
This is a saga that has been going on since before the window was even open, with the veteran becoming unhappy with his severe lack of game time at Chelsea under Frank Lampard.
However, Giroud has always remained professional during these times and he will certainly be wished the best by Chelsea supporters, who will be hoping the club bring in another striker to replace him.
