Card machine Jorginho picks up further two game ban

You have to hand it to him, Jorginho isn’t just the master of racking up passing stats.

He also has a great knack for stacking up yellow cards. His position on the pitch means he’s always in a prime place to break up opposition counters, and his lack of pace means he’s rarely able to do it legally.

It took just 15 minutes for him to get his customary caution today, his tenth of the season. That means a two game ban, just what we didn’t need with injuries scything through the squad right now, especially in central midfield.

He has a one game ban in the Champions League too for the second leg against Bayern, so now he misses three of the next four matches. While he can feature against Liverpool in midweek, he will then sit out against Everton and Aston Villa.

It makes it all the more important to get Ruben Loftus-Cheek some minutes later in this game. He will have an important role to play in the next few weeks now as the Blues look to keep their season alive.
