Chelsea are working on a deal to sign Inter Milan central midfielder Matías Vecino, according to reports carried by FootballItalia.
They say that the Blues will meet Inter’s €28m asking price this summer in order to strengthen their squad, with players also likely moving on.

Vecino has been a regular under Antonio Conte at the San Siro this season, but there’s also the sense that the Italian side would be ready to cash in if a good offer arrives.
Chelsea currently have a solid crop of players in that position, which makes the whole thing seem less plausible. On the other hand, Frank Lampard may well feel that the options available to him aren’t players of the style he likes, and he may see this summer as an opportunity to sell on starters like Jorginho in order to build the team more in his image.
Vecino doesn’t feel like a top target, but we may well be putting feelers out there.
