Chelsea set for big meeting over winger’s future after another goal

The Premier League took a week off this week, meaning many eyes were turned abroad. For Chelsea, there are always players on loan to keep an eye on, and while that’s not the case with Jeremie Boga, it might as well be.

We sold him last summer, but with the buy back clause, so if we want him we can have him again. The Sun reported that Chelsea will meet with the Serie A club this week to determine whether they will exercise the clause. It would seem mad not to – even if we don’t feel he’s ready for Chelsea, we could easily sell him for a far larger profit now.

He was excellent again this midweek, scoring again, and keeping him at Sassuolo looks an increasingly unlikely prospect.

If he’s going to go anywhere, we as well be the ones making the money. An Italian club in our position would do it, and in fact Real Madrid did it to us when we bought Alvaro Morata.

So for once, let’s make the smart move here.
