Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been speaking about his decision to pick 18 year old Billy Gilmour in his starting XI.
Speaking to the BBC cameras in the tunnel before the game, he insisted he was “very comfortable” with the decision, and had full faith in the youngster to deliver.
Lampard on Gilmour: “Billy is playing because he deserves to play, because of how he has trained, how he has played when he has been in there, so it is comfortable choice.” #CFC #FACup

We’ve seen promising cameos in league and cup already from the Scot, and we think Lampard totally believes what he’s saying. He’s had a brilliant start to the game already, and if truly fulfilling his manager’s faith.
With N’Golo Kante out injured and Jorginho set to miss a solid chunk of games through suspension, this could truly be a breakthrough month for the kid who signed from Rangers two summers ago.
Perform today and we could see more appearances and even more starts in the next month alone. They could in turn lead to more Scotland appearances, and the virtuous circle can continue.
