Managers are always full of stories of how they almost signed great players, and nobody is full of more guff on that subject than Harry Redknapp.
He loves playing up the stories of the times he almost snagged Cristiano Ronaldo, or in this case, Eden Hazard.
He says he was a big fan of the Belgian when he was at Lille, and had told Daniel Levy to do everything in his power to bring him to White Hart Lane.
Unfortunately for both of them, Hazard’s mind was already made up… he was coming to Chelsea.
