Chelsea lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this evening in their second Premier League match of the new campaign.
Frank Lampard’s side effectively lost the game on 44 minutes right before the half time whistle when Andreas Christensen’s stupid challenge on Sadio Made rightfully received a straight red card.
However, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga deservedly takes some blame here, for rushing way off his line when he was getting nowhere near it. He also made a terrible error to gift Liverpool their second goal.
It was yet another shaky performance from the Spaniard, who is already under immense pressure to perform after a poor couple of seasons.
But Chelsea fans have made their voices heard once again, and have firmly pointed the blame at Kepa with one saying “Please, just leave”, and another branding him as “useless.”
With Edouard Mendy set to arrive from Rennes at any moment now, you cannot help but feel that Kepa’s time as Chelsea’s regular number one is more than numbered.
#Chelsea need as soon as possible the new goalkeeper: #Mendy.
Medicals and signing are ok. That's the priority for Lampard.
Start with Mendy.

The only positives from this match is Chelsea do have defensive replacements for kepa Alonso and Andres.
The red card leaves a bitter taste in my mouth as the second half could have been different. Pool deserves the win obviously.
Hats off to Timo. He is a hard worker.

Really surprised Lampard started Kepa. His confidence is shot to bits

Alonso stinks, soon as Chilwell is fit we feast.
As for Mendy, I beg we get it done and announced. Kepa stinks.

We should never have to see Kepa play for Chelsea again 🤞🏼
