Chelsea only played on Saturday but already we are here talking about their next game tomorrow.
Both Frank Lampard, and captain Cesar Azpilicueta, have been speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League Group stage clash against Sevilla.
It is the first game of the new European campaign and the main subject for Lampard and his captain to deal with, was the defensive issues.
Both were asked about how the situation at the back needs to improve, and Azpilicueta has very much backed his manager in agreeing the issue is both individual errors, and defending collectively.
Azpilicueta is backing Lampard over these comments about the poor use of the ball and poor game management versus Southampton. https://t.co/uUbyd2aRFb

Azpilicueta on defence: "If we want to improve and fight for everything then we have to improve the defensive side. This is a problem we fix both collectively and individually, sometimes you get away with it and score four goals but sometimes you need to dig in" #CFC

Chelsea conceded 3 goals again on Saturday and threw away a 2-0 lead in the first half. They could not even see the game out when they recomposed themselves and grabbed their third goal to go 3-2 up.
Azpilicueta admits that they have to improve the defensive side, and it is a problem they need to fix both ‘collectively and individually.’
