Things were going pretty well for Chelsea in this game, with a stronger than expected team and a one goal lead.
It almost looked like things were going horribly wrong though, when Kurt Zouma collided with his own goalkeeper at a corner.
It was a horror clash, and there’s no way that the Chelsea defender should have been allowed to stay on. But stay on he has, despite Fikayo Tomori going to warm up.
As plenty of fans on social media pointed out, Zouma “should be off” after such a sickening clash, and he was treated on the field by the medics who arrived on the little golf buggy ready to take him off.
In the end he carried on and seems ok, but there seems a good chance he will miss this weekend’s game if he’s diagnosed with anything serious.
You can see a selection of the reaction here:
Rudiger has actually been alright you know. Been better than zouma today

The way this sport treats head injuries is a joke. Zouma should be off after that kind of impact

oh okay, are we really supposed to believe that Zouma didn't just get a head injury there? ffs

For me, Zouma is a great defender, alongside side a CB who leads and commands, Zouma follows instructions instantly
I look at cbs as a partnership, I don’t focus on the individual, but on them as a collective
Seeing everything, Silva & Zouma is clearly the best

¡DURÍSIMO!
Zouma saltó a buscar la pelota, cayó desplomado en el área y asustó a todo Chelsea. https://t.co/Wq2iDtBToa
