We wrote yesterday how excited we were to see Billy Gilmour called up and training with the Scotland U21 team, and we’re even more excited with the news today that he’s on the bench for their game against Croatia today.

If he gets on the pitch that will be another exciting step forward for the youngster, whose progress into the first team was given a huge setback by the injury he picked up in training during the coronavirus hiatus.
Hopefully a few minutes off the bench here can be followed by a start for his country at some point next week, and then we can start dreaming of a return to the first team too.
The new 433 formation should suit him well, and with Frank Lampard always keen to give the kids a chance, we really don’t think it will be long before young Billy is back for us. Rejoice!
