Argh. That hurts. Poor Timo Werner.
The striker has been bright today, and should really have had a penalty earlier in this second half. He barely complained when it wasn’t given though, he kept his head down and won another in the last few minutes.
His confidence is so low that there was a lot of anxiety when he stepped up to take it himself, and sure enough he hit it at the perfect height for the goalkeeper to save.
That will only deepen the depths of Werner’s rut.
