“Brilliant” – Mason Mount shines again as Chelsea fail to win against Manchester United

It’s all over at Stamford Bridge, and it’s ended 0-0 between Chelsea and Manchester United.

There were plenty of frustrating performances, but Mason Mount was the outstanding man in Blue once again.

Speaking on BBC Five Live, Matthew Upson said Mount was “brilliant,” and the midfielder twice burst into the box in the second half without the support he needed from his teammates to make the chances count.

Perhaps it was partly the competition on the pitch that made Mount stand out – Olivier Giroud was invisible, Hakim Ziyech was awful, then Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic didn’t add much as substitutes.

We also shouldn’t be too disappointed with the result – we could easily have lost this game too, and CHO’s first half handball should probably have lead to a Man U penalty.

But one can’t help but feel we could have had three points today – especially with star man Mason in this kind of form.
