Thomas Tuchel is taking his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game with Tottenham this week, and he’s just been asked about Mason Mount.
The midfielder was something of a favourite for Frank Lampard, but he wasn’t picked for Tuchel’s first game in charge, leading to a few question marks about how important he would be going forward.
Tuchel’s quotes today should dismiss those fears. As you can see from the quotes below, when asked about Mount’s potential he answered extremely positively.
Tuchel on Mount: "I agree in the potential from Mason. I saw it from the outside and now inside I see it even more how much he cares about Chelsea, his team-mates and how he leaves his heart out there on the pitch. You can always be sure he gives 100% every minute." #CFC

“I saw [the potential] from the outside and now inside I see it even more,” he explained.
It should be a perfect match. Mason is a hard worker and Tuchel likes a high energy, high pressing system. We’re sure his early omission will soon prove to be an anomaly, and if we were guessing who makes the lineup for tomorrow night’s game against Spurs, he would be among our first guesses.
