Callum Hudson-Odoi returns to Chelsea as the latest international injury

Callum Hudson-Odoi has returned to Chelsea from international duty with a shoulder injury ruling him out of playing in tomorrow’s game with Poland or taking any further part in training.

The winger hurt himself on Saturday, ruling him out of the U21 team’s 2-0 loss to Portugal the next day.

Initially it was expected he would be back for the decisive group game against Croatia, but manager Aidy Boothroyd today confirmed he’d gone back to Chelsea to continue his recovery.

While it doesn’t sound like a major injury, it’s not looking good for this weekend’s game at the very least. Playing in the early kick-off on Saturday gives him even less time to recover, and we’d be surprised to even see him on the bench given the depth we do have.

Let’s pray that’s it for this week’s injuries – it’s been a bad break, and at a terrible time for us.
