Aston Villa will be without two key players for this weekend’s game against Chelsea.
The two Argentines – Emi Buendia and Emi Martinez – were both involved in their national team’s total farce against Brazil last night.
With the game already underway, Brazilian health officials stormed onto the pitch to grab some of the visiting players, who had apparently not complied with COVID protocol.
In the end the game was suspended – but the after-effects will linger on for clubs for weeks.
Tottenham Hotspur did NOT give Romero and Lo Celso permission to accept their Argentina call-ups and the pair, plus Davinson Sanchez, can expect club fines on their return #thfc https://t.co/rui4lhJj4n

Matt Law’s piece on the debacle claims that the pair – along with Tottenham stars Cristian Romero and Gio Lo Celso – will be out for two games, starting this weekend.
Aston Villa missing their goalkeeper and their Jack Grealish replacement will be a big blow for them, and a big boost for Chelsea, who can keep their great start to the season going with a win in the late game on Saturday.
