Thomas Tuchel is taking his press conference ahead of a tough game against Leicester tomorrow, where he was asked about the impact of the international break on his squad.
He admitted it was tough to get your players back on a Friday and then have to play on a Saturday (in an early kick off no less), but as always the coach wasn’t looking to make his job sound hard – in fact instead he insisted “there are no excuses” in quotes picked up by Football.London.
“We will arrive well prepared in Leicester this evening, then it’s on us to show how strong we are” he added in his steely tone.
He’s right – our opposition will have had similar challenges to us after a busy and competitive international period, so there are no unfair advantages to be had. A 12.30 kick off after an international break is always a slog, but there’s nothing we can do except get our heads down and grind out 3 points if we can.

Perfectly said
