Andreas Christensen the latest Chelsea player to go off hurt

Chelsea have taken off Andreas Christensen at half time, with Trevoh Chalobah replacing him.

The Dane had gone down hurt in the first half but played on till half time. He’s had a back issue recently, and we assume it’s a recurrence of that. With Thiago Silva already out, we’re desperately thin at the back if any of these issues are serious.

We face Liverpool on Sunday, and things really don’t get easier after that. This team feels like it’s on its last lags physically.

That means not only have Chelsea possibly lost two players to injury, they’ve also lost two of their subs for this game by half time. Reece James lasted just 27 minutes.

Given how they played in the first half, and given how many players need a rest, that could be fatal. We’re under serious pressure, and changes would probably already have been made by now, in normal circumstances.

  1. For God’s sake, when will these players stop trying to reach the top row of the stands with pathetic efforts. I have said it so many times, if only they could shoot straight we would not drop so many points. Only a lucky penalty against Villa gave us the points, when it could have been tied up earlier, now tonight against Brighton yet another last minute goal takes away 2 points, when early chances were wasted. Why exactly do these players ask for, and expect more weekly wages than the ordinary man earns in a year, if they they now can’t perform !!!!!!
