Chelsea have had to make full use of their deep squad over the past few weeks as injuries have really taken hold of their first team, and we’ve seen plenty of players who looked destined to spend the season on the bench get lots of starts.
Once our first team is all fit again that will change however, and there are some major sides sniffing around our squad players trying to work out who they might be able to snap up in January.
Mundo Deportivo say that Barca are “fishing” at Chelsea – casting their line into the water and seeing who bites.
Three players are mentioned – Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger. The latter pair can leave on free transfers, while the former may find minutes hard to come by if Callum Hudson-Odoi can re-establish himself as first choice on the wing.
It won’t be easy for Barca given their financial situation, but we can see there being a faint possibility on all three counts here.
