Charles De Ketelaere is a rising star in Belgium, playing a key attacking role for Club Brugge since being promoted from their academy to the first team in 2019.
That kind of quality always attracted attention for abroad, and SportWitness have some really interesting quotes from Belgium about his future.
Brugge scout Paul Courant has been raving about the 20 year old’s ability, and directly mentioned Chelsea as a potential destination for him, particularly noting how well he would fit into Thomas Tuchel’s team.
“Put Charles at Chelsea tomorrow and he will play immediately. Especially, under that trainer – I know that club and the vision of their coach a little bit,†he raved.
“Charles no longer needs a refresher course. He is already a modern footballer – physically, technically and mentally.”
He’s not saying that Chelsea have made a bid or even have any concrete interest, just saying he would be a good fit for Tuchel’s system and already has the quality to play for him.
We’re sure there are scouts from the club watching him – there always are with any top prospect like De Ketelaere. Maybe they will see these quotes and start paying even closer attention to the youngster’s development.
