There is never a quiet day with Chelsea right now with the amount of current defenders in the final year of their contracts with the club.
There always appears to be a new story or a new update as such each day, and transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has the latest on one of them.

If you remember back to last week you may have seen some claims that Tottenham were in the race to sign Antonio Rudiger as a free agent in the summer. Well those claims have been rubbished by Romano, who says Spurs are not in the race, and neither are Bayern Munich as things stand, who do not want to pay his high wages either.
Real Madrid though, are still in the mix according to Romano, but he also confirms that Chelsea are still in talks with Ruidger themselves to try and renew the contract at Stamford Bridge.

Still no closer to a conclusion though, and this one could have more twists and turns yet.
